Stage ONE........

So if you've read you should already know I'm a 2Nd grade teacher. I actually got out of work earlier than expected because one of the students in my school contracted Swine Flu. ( Sucks, but he's OK ) So I've had a little bit of time to officially start planning my DAY. So far I've decided, well Dre and I have decided to have the wedding in Disney in Orlando, FL. All of my family resides in Florida so it made the decision super easy. I was able to see the venue already because unfortunately my Grandma died the same day I got engaged so I had to take a trip to FL. While I was there my Mom and I were able to check things out. I instantly fell in love. So as of right now that's the only details of the wedding that is etched in stone. My plans are to have the wedding in July 2010. Oh yeah and my good friend Chrisette Michelle which all of you should know ( Grammy Winner, New Album Epiphany in stores now) is singing her single Golden as I walk down the isle. Super exciting, I Know !!!!

Now here is the reason why i decided to start blogging. I am a wedding show fanatic!! Any wedding related show that comes on TV, especially on WE channel I am known to DVR and watch over and over.( Bridezillas, Say Yes To The Dress, Amazing Wedding Cakes, just to name a few)This has been the case since high school. However, now that it is my turn to wed I'm at a huge LOST! I don't know where to begin. My first concern is the budget. I don't wanna go broke and be in debt for the sake of a beautiful wedding.Can i do a wedding under $20,000? Where do I go to find the best deals for DJs, Florist, Photographer, etc? This is where you come in. I'm hoping this blog will assist me in getting some wedding planning assistant from women who have lived in learned. Please write me your suggestions, ideas, do's and don'ts, whatever will help me with the planning. Oh another question. is it OK to order a wedding gown online? This seems like an OK idea to me but I could be totally wrong. I NEED HELP!!! Please fellow blogger help me out!

In the Beginning God created.........

Before I became a future bride I had to start at the bottom sort of speak. In the beginning was my childhood friend and I on a normal Saturday night. I went along with Ryan to hang out with some of her fellow Marine buddies at a NYC shot bar called Barcelona. Little did I know that night would be the beginning of history in the making. Expecting nothing more but than a night of a few drinks and a few more laughs, in he walked. Instantly noticing he was one of the cuter guys there that night, without thought I perked up the boobs and put my game face on. Before I could make a move Ryan instantly shot me down telling me she had already been with him. Being that I'm not the type of girl to pick up my friends leftovers, I gave up any hope of "us". With no love lose we continued the night and had a blast!!!!

Weeks had passed and Ryan was bugging me about this guy who wanted to talk to me so badly. ( Oh yeah, I never introduced this guy, His name is Andre) Remembering what she had told me I had no interest in him. So without my consent Ryan gave him my number ( because that's what good friends do ) Hours of conversation led to a first date. I know your expecting a happily ever after at this point but that's not the case. After the first date I knew that he wasn't my type. I tried my best to avoid him but against my better judgement I decided to be his friend since he was new to NY. Eight months of friendship, which was probably the best months EVER, lead to LOVE! Then the news hit us. He was being deployed to Iraq for a year!! YOU HAVE TO BE FREAKING KIDDING ME! was my initial reaction. The question that held in the balance was should I cherish the time we spent together and call it quits? or should I stick it out like he stuck it out for me? What would you have done? Well I obviously decided to stick it out and wait for him. After a year of prayers and web cams he returned home to me safe and sound, which brings us to the present. Andre popped the question on May 5th ! Now begins my journey to wedding bliss <3
